SV300: Play Encrypted DVDs Without Worry
The SV300 DVD Player is a core component of S-VIEW, Cinea’s end-to-end system for protecting DVDs against unauthorized viewers. This fully-featured player works just like any high-end DVD player, and plays standard DVD and CD formats. But in the background, it employs advanced technologies that ensure protected content is viewed only by specified people, and that any unauthorized redistribution can be forensically tracked.

DVD Security:
Cinea’s SV300 player and S-VIEW discs incorporate industrial-strength security features that form a complete protection umbrella. During delivery and storage, content on the discs is secured using state-of-the-art AES 128 bit encryption. All of the protected audio and video content is fully encrypted. The discs can be time set, enabling content to be played only during the described period. Further, content-specific output controls allow content owners to choose which video outputs can be enabled for their content.

The SV300 itself has a variety of security sub-systems that work together to ensure content and keys are never available in the clear:
  • A tamper-responsive security core provides highly secure storage for content keys and secure infrastructure enforcement. This circuit automatically destroys secrets when attacked.
  • A secure real-time clock enforces the window during which content can be played, as well as provides a time stamp for watermarking.
  • Individual player IDs allow content to be authorized on a player-by-player basis. Players can also be enrolled into groups, enabling discs to run only on a specific group of individual players.
  • Flexible configuration enables content owners to configure SV300 players to view content from different encrypted projects or to be restricted to a single project, according to their needs.
  • An embedded Cinea Running Marks® inserter places an indelible, invisible watermark into each copy of the content as it is played out, facilitating forensic tracking if needed.
  • Macrovision® protection on the analog outputs provides additional protection against recording to media.
  • HDCP protection on the HDMI digital output provides link protection into the digital display device.
  • A user access PIN allows end-users to set up a unique PIN on their SV300 such that no S-VIEW content can play (even if otherwise authorized) until the correct PIN is entered. This PIN can only be reset by a Cinea customer service representative.
